Paul,
I have unashamedly copied you and bought a set of aerocatches for my Velocity. I was going to have a go at fitting them today and wanted to ask you
why you made the fixing brackets rather than drilling through the chassis tube and clamping the pin to that?

was conerned about the strength issues by drilling through the top rails
take your time and get the position correct - my catches could have been better if i had fitted them 1 0r 2 cm lower as the back ones have to have the
pin at a slight angle now due to the slope of the bonnet

I fitted the brackets with two m5 rivnuts which allowed me to slide the brackects backwards or forwards by 2mm to get perfect fit

Paul,
The thread attached earlier put me off drilling all the way through the chassis rail so I bought a section of 20mm aluminium square tube from B&Q
for a few quid and used it in a similar way as you did. It worked really well because the lower nut fitted perfectly into the tube which made
adjustment very manageable. You can just see one of the brackets to the left of the throttle pedal.

looking good..
You may need to play around with the angle the pin ends up at..I ended up using some rubber tap washers cut at 5 deg. ( proto type) one on top and one
inside the bracket to get the pin sloping inwards on the rear catches. The front ones were perfect straight up..

You have more finesse than me, I too had to adjust the angle, I used a hammer!

I tell you what we get ripped off in this country.. I have just been working in Thailand and was wondering around aimlessly at the weekend and
stumbled over a Honda tuning shop. They sell the aero catches (not lockable) for £10 a pair and the lockable ones for £18 a pair... The non lockable
ones are from Japan and the lockable ones are from the US.....
You can even pick the colour of the pins..normal ally, red or blue!
