We went 3 years without a front one.
When the MOT loomed we stuck a standard plate on the nosecone, low down with the white double-sided sticky pads, fully expecting it to fall off after a few days.
Almost 2 years later it's still stubbornly holding on

front numberplate

I mounted mine under the front of the nosecone with two hinges, it just rides over speed humps and disappears when going fast. Not that that was the intention.

I mount mine low down on hinges as well.

Didn't realise it folded under when moving. Honest officer
