well guys i tried my best, but it looks like the engine didn't get to luego in time to sort out a chassis, spoke to ben tonight and it is a bit
more involved than was thought to get the engine in, so rather than collecting it and having to take it back to get chassis finnished i have decided
to leave it with them to finnish at their own pace and make sure its stong and right, so it will be down to ben to bring photos and for me to come and
see you all at the show without car, will hope to have it rolling for brands hatch end of the month or newark next month, or even both,
it amazed me, it took 4 days to travel 5000 miles from its salvage yard to heathrow, then 7 days to travel from heathrow to hull after it cleared
customs.

How big a fuel tank are you going to have. With my mere 3.5l engine and 7 gallon tank, I tend to find myslf filling up after 100 miles
Gauge is a bit vague, but better safe than sorry.

Just picked up on the forum after a break. Work. Can't believe the pictures !! I've got a small block chevy in my viento and the biggest
problem is cooling the beast. Problems like fuel tanks and traction are overcome although you may need some wider wings and look at porsche cup
wheels. Let me know if you need any help !

Radiator is going to be a custom job now we know how much water the system requires lol wheels are going to be ordered either before or after Newark
they will be custom made to what we want too and we have already spoken to Ben about bigger front and rear wings lol lots of custom work going on here
Have you got any idea what your small block weighs?

Its an ally headed one which cuts a few pounds off but I would put it close to 250kg. The tremec gearbox is about 25 - 30kg. Fuel tank is a double
height affair so takes about 50 litres. If you are getting a custom made rad I would be in for one as well as my standard one isn't up to it.
The problem is in the amount of space you have in the nose, probably be able to add a few more rows but you've still got to look at ducting the
heat out of the engine bay other wise cooked legs and everything else. Send us a u2u.

Is that V10 as compact as it looks? I've always fancied a big silly engine in a silly little car!

i don't know yet, i haven't seen it in the flesh, its been delivered straight to hull to be fitted in the chassis and i'm 250 miles
away, collect it on the 26th, from what i have been told, it is compact for what it is but it is a BIG engine, well it is 8.3 ltrs. from the
measurments i had, it should be about the size of a v12 jag engine

You'll need to move the clutch master cylinder over to prevent it snagging on the engine rails. Put the hydraulic clutch cable in before you
mount the thing ! You need to mock up where the down tube comes out so you don't snag the steering column. I still don't know how your
going to keep that thing cold enough.
Is their enough clearance to get it under the bonnet or is it the mother of all engine bulges.
For the engine mounts I had some fabricated by a hot rod place in Wisbech rated at 1000 bhp. I was expecting the whole car to twist when I pushed the
pedal but the mounts don't even move.

I thought I must have missed a few posts so dipped into the forum pages to check. Big John, Sir; you are certifiable and you're going to need
fly-by-wire and trousers-by-dupont.
Please, please get some video of when you get that monster started without headers - that I gotta see...

got the engine and chassis at last, nice run, now the fun begins, some picures for your enjoyment
the moddified chassis
then engine and chassis, doing a dry fit tomorrow to see what needs changing or adjusting before it goes for painting.
the diff mounted, as you can see, different mounts to the 7/7.5 normally fitted, this is an 8.8 out of a mustang.
back diff mounting, not sure this will take 500hp+ so may get changed.
me getting to know my engine!!!!!!!!

Looking good! Although I expected the chassis to be much more modified than that, as it looks little different to my eyes. May I suggest a couple of
things? Feel free to tell me to wee off, but they may help. Firstly, a full roll cage will add hugely to the chassis stiffness and strength. Secondly,
an over the engine cradle/frame. Someone posted one on here a while back, but I can't find it. It basicaly tied the front suspension points, the
upper engine bay rails and the scuttle bars together to create much better triangulation of the engine bay, as this is one of the main weak points in
these types of chassis.

not keen on the whole cage as i think it spoils the shape, will be looking at how to put more stiffness into the chassis so i'll have a look for
the thread you say about.
