the camber of my front wheels are slightly positive, what options do i have to make them negative by 1 - 2 degs?
can anyone think of why they might be slightly positive ? i have lock nuts on teh camber adjuster, and its fully wound in. ( thin lock nuts )
This is a standard velocity chassis and wishbones?
You mean the top of the wheels are further out from the car than the bottom?
Have you got eccentric mushrooms in the uprights? they can give more, or less adjustment as well as the top screw. Would the top wishbone make a
difference to the camber if it was upside down? As far as I remember the top wishbone should be fitted so as to have the outside end fitment nearer to
the rear of the car .
I know it will affect the castor, maybe the combination can conspire together to give positive camber?
yea, standard Velocity XT chassis and wishbones.
the mushroom inserts are a newer type, and dont give as much adjustment as the original ones Luego supplied - they gave much more room...
this is tehi only pic i can find of the inserts
calipe carrier from front
sorry, that was an old photo. since then i have fitted much slimmer locking nuts....
still positive camber though
got rid of my pic as it was too big.
paul
here is a better pic
i know alot of people say the insert does nothing for camber, but i disagree - mine looks to have too little adjustment - new luegos inserts. i think
the old ones ( like yours paul ) had much more adjustment in them.

Have you checked the camber with the wheels on the car and the weight on the wheels?
yes, thats when i noticed it.
the car whas on its wheels on the flat. we were then able to use a spirit level to check it the camber was positive or negative ( not able to tell the
angle, just if it was or not )
Yes, I had a similar problem - wasn't positive (old type mushrooms), but wanted a tad more negative...in the end made the VERY naughty move of removing the locknut giving more inward adjustment of the balljoint as a temp measure until I think of something else.......
Cant see from your photo but is it possible to remove any metal from the outer end of the wishbone without weakening it? Just a few mm may make a difference
I figured it out.
I was supplied two differnt makes of Drag Ends. the one in the picture has more metal before the ball joint, where as on the other side, its thread
all the way to the ball joint...
you can just about make it out in this picture...
drives side is wrong, ( give more positive camber ) and passengers is right..
