Just like clockwork I appear to have yet another load of questions, but this time relating to my fuel tank.
Alas, I have noticed an extremely slow leak from the passenger side of the fuel tank.
Question 1:
I wondered if anyone out there can tell me if this is the standard tank that comes with a Luego?
Fuel Tank When Bought
I haven't exactly worked out where the crack is but have taken the early decision not to get it repaired.
Instead I will replace it with a brand spanking new tank of my own design.
Question 2:
Has anyone ever experimented with sloping tank floors which slope down to sump area (see rough drawing below)
My fuel tank design

If you did just want to repair your tank i think there is some stuff you can put in your tank that blocks leaks (cant remember what it is called)
On the basis that it's a track only vehicle I've decided to go for a smaller tank than the one presently in there.
Because my design is less wide it will also mean that in the future I'll be able to remove the fuel tank without having to take the roll bar out
first (a blimin' pain in the backside).
Repairing the crack (even with chemical metal glue-type stuff) is going to involve 95% of the work associated with a complete replacement.
It will also mean I get a trully gravity fed system with sump to avoid fuel stavation. The fazer's fuelk pump is technically gravity fed even
though it presently operates above the fuel tank using a down pipe fuel pickup.

I did not slope mine but have welded a box on underneath then poked holes through to act as a sump.
Get one of then bags that sit inside a box.
