I thought that it was about time that I posted some more pictures of build progress:
i) Fuel swirl pot
swirl pot
lift and injection fuel pumps in home made bracket
fuel pump in braket
And in place
fuel pumps in place
Front near side hub
front near side hub
calipers and carriers painted with high temperature paint
painted calipers
be careful with that bosch fuel injection pump, we use those on the machines at work and have three fail in the past 6 months where the outer metal
casing is "Crimped" to the plastic inner causing fuel to leak out, now ours were running on diesel so its just a case of cleaning it up but
petrol???? not sure id want to take the risk when Facet make a better pump for similar money.
just my 2 penneth.
i have a bosch 044 fuel pump and has been fine for a year and a half and it was second hand to me so they are fine

its nothing to do with the fuel its metal fatigue that causes the shell to crack.
I know there are lots of good examples running still but like i said ive had three failures in 6 months, i also have another 35 of them that were
brought at the same time that are still running, and our machines run 24 hrs a day 7 days a week so potentially alot more than a kit used 6 - 9 months
a year.
Quote "i have a bosch 044 fuel pump and has been fine for a year and a half and it was second hand to me so they are fine" - i dont see
how you can state that because you have a second hand pump thats ok that "every" one of those pumps manufactured is "fine"
I was just offering my opinion.
looking good, be ready for Stonely then.
or you could get it to Stoneliegh and we could all have a helping blitz on it for you.
Absolutely!! I'm just not sure which year! The current plan for this year is to just come along in the tin top
Looking good Steve - Impressed you're finding the time - Not driven mine in three weeks!!!...
Looking nice and neat, Steve keep up the good work - probably stoneleigh 2011 looks a bit ambitious from your current position, but Clive's idea
of 6 of us having a bonding session building your car has its merits - not sure what a mess we'd make of it between us in 2 days, though!!!
- and that fuel pump is the same as mine - I'll be having a regular check on it following Carl's comments....
fuel pump bracket reminds me of my DIY effort on mine....
Description
Same pump here bracket and ancilliaries pulled off of a vauxhall Cavalier SRI
My first failed, but, in mitigagation someone had already firkled around with it, hence the state of the crimping on the end. My current pump was off
of a BMW318 and has bolt on terminals (much happier than with spade terminals).
