Looking good, do you not have any rear braces for the rollbar?

Some people have failed on SVA/IVA because of that.....

Plus its piece of mind incase it ever rolls

Yeah, but it's up to the discretion of the tester as usual.

Are you sure you cannot just bend the gear lever? - worked for mine. Just bend it until it is horizontal in 2nd

boggle - 7/2/10 at 09:50 PM

when you have five pop round and have a look.....i had to move it back 5".....

DavidM - 7/2/10 at 09:51 PM

Or have a look at David Jenkins website. He has details for making a type 9 remote, which works very well.

I think it depends if the seatbelts are mounted to it.

just had a look at his site....

my gear lever fork does not come down that far???

this was my attempt....

wicket - 8/2/10 at 11:18 AM

Here's my gear lever extension (design by Ben Copeland). Been in use for nearly 4 years and no problems and always works very well. A bit agricultural but easy to make with basic tools.

Boggle the one you made looked ok why didnt it work?
perhaps a little refinement/modification and it would work.
not wishing to upset anyone but from the pics of the one on the yellow chassis i wouldnt do it like that as the extension is chassis mounted not g/box mounted and i can see it causing problems
also the thing about rear stays
i didnt think you even need a rollbar for iva?
Ray

wicket - 8/2/10 at 03:59 PM

That's the one. It's an age thing!!!!!

wicket - 8/2/10 at 05:25 PM

As I said before been used for nearly 4 years now and no problems what so ever. The rear end of the change lever is supported in a rod end which allows for gearbox movement.

Daddylonglegs - 8/2/10 at 07:20 PM

AshG, does your gear change still allow for push-down reverse, or does it need a gate?

JB

Boggle have a look at David Jenkins site as already suggested , it shows how to create a quickshift from the standard gearlever that also moves the pivot point up the gearlever . That will then engage the fork with the selector shaft. It will also show how to fit the reverse gear stop.

Ashg , that remote is for the older 4 speed box not the type 9.

if your talking about the yellow chassis one of wickets, it works fine with push down as it was my original design. Works brilliantly with push down reverse.
