Now with side pods...
A few people suggested something like this.....what do you think?.....notice the piece of checkerplate (treadplate) to step on....

Nice
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but its sinking, Racing around to come up behind you again, the sun is the same in a relative way but
your older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Alan, although they look good, do they do anything?
If not. they are just more weight to add and slow you down.
They still look

I would say they look nice, but personally, i think i would leave them off. It looked a peach already, and as said, they are just more weigth and
another bit to build...

If i am honest, I prefer it without sidepods - looks more lean, maybe more purposeful.
As for the overall thing, it looks ace! Wish I could use CAD to make something as cool as that

They would be a good place to hide plumbing, fuel, electrics etc.

Alan , good god man dont you ever sleep.
Mate my honest opinion, they add enormously to the look of the car, benifits, extra side intrusion protection, somewhere to hide pipes wires etc as
some one has mentioned, and even space for luggage [small of course], added weight would be minimal, benifits ten fold
I vote yes

You could do a whole range of pods...
Short & long range luggage pods.
Sleeping pods.
Stretcher pods (you could pretend to be a MASH chopper pilot)
Bike Rack pod.
Long range fuel tank pod.
Surf board pod.
Scuba gear pod.
Golf bag pod.
Baby carrier pod (perhaps not).
I could go on but I suspects its best to stop now.
They'll need to be higher than that to offer any sort of side impact protection. Whats the height of the Crown Vic front bumper anyway? Is
that still the semi blind geriatrics weapon of choice?

Queue Thunderbird's theme...
Rescue drilling pod
Hurricane shelter pod (perfect for Florida )
Rocket pods.
Wings.
Pod containing miniature version of car.
BBQ Pit pod.
Gun racks
Cluster bomb dispensers.
Ok I'm done now.

It does look very good either way.
I would recommend either the pods or something like them. I had a go of an Atom, and as you drive you can see the contact point of the front wheels
with the road. That means the occasional bit of gravel is likely to hit you in the face. Thats not good.

Agree there to Brian , i did a half a dozen laps around Manfeild in the Atom 10 min after a shower and track was still a bit damp , when i got out i
was soaked through to the skin, put me off the things for good
Ps was slower than Monty as well.

That is why the MotaLeira will have lexan over the exposed open chassis.
Apart from that, it should help with a bit more "aero"
