In profile the P4-5 is lovely but the front is not so good. Ive gotta go with the Mclaren F1 short tail. Beautiful from any angle!
If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

Any car design has to be taken in context of when it was produced and what else was available. Thus the Countach is startling as the ferraris of the
day were completely outclassed. Equally the Elise is a landmark because of its compact dimensions and taught styling, though from the rear and rear
3/4's it looks frumpy and dumpy.
I like (not in order) Alfa 33 Stradale, Maserati Bora, Countach, Pantera, Muira, urraco, Cayman (apart from rear view)

<-------- Mine - obviously!!
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

*popcorn* I expect it's the tired old mid engine can only means longitudinal engines nonsense.
Then again big manufacturers are now calling anything with the engine behind the front wheels mid engined.

It's fair to say that there are many to chose from. There are some gorgeous race cars out there.
This isn't bad either:

The "new" Ferrari P4/5 is just a typical retrodesign. It's ok, but not the real thing (like a new beetle isn't half as cute as
an old one, same with Mini, Fiat 500, Mustang etc).
I love the lines of the Ferrari P4 (the real one), or the Lamborghini Miura. Lola T70 and Ford GT40 are very nice too. As are Porsche 956 and 962. Too
many really nice mid-engined cars around to choose from, actually.
I'm tempted to vote for the original Ferrari P4, but only just.
