Working on mods to the bonnet (hood)...I hope you can see what I'm trying to do.

are you going to have to put a new return on the mould where you've widedned the cockpit? or will you use some edging material to tidy the edge up?

On this body I'll put up a temporary damn/edging strip an lay up on the back side of it to give me a return edge.

There is just far too much to do for it ever to be a quick and easy project.......so nibbling away is just about my only option...

Alan, as I force myself through endless sanding and filling of my shell, it makes me appreciate what you and others go through; you guys who made your own buck and molds. Quite honestly I don't enjoy it much... or at all. It's an endless Catch-22 of not wanting to work on it yet realizing if I don't it'll never get done. It's so much different then working on the chassis, where I'd see daily progress in a very physical way. Working on the shell, all I'm rewarded with after a long day's messy work is a slightly smoother panel.

And yet I'm too much of a cheapskate to pay someone else to do it. Even one week of having the pros work on it would be around $2000... I can't do that so I just keep sanding away. If only we'd vacuum bagged it I'd have a *lot* less work to do...

Alan - not 100% sure about the apature in the bonnet - it's a bit too "Batcar" for my tastes. What are your plans for this hole?

I do like the general curves though... it could look bland otherwise.

The "batcar" aperture was just an intermediate stage, the latest pics should show it filled in.

Hate to say it, but I don't think the sides of the hood should rise above the center, then back below, as they do.

IMO, dropping the side sections way down LMP-style would look great, but this would involve reworking the insides of your fenders, so let's not. How about running channels alongside the center section?

Forgot to add that the car is looking stunning! The design is growing on me.

Too bad about those headlight regs, eh? Low ones would look great. I've been wondering about how Porsche 924 flip-ups would go.
