lol
yep walking 2 to 3 mile a day
and eating like a rabbit
whish I was doing other things like a rabbit.
Glad your recovering mate car looks good. Would be good to have the engine a bit further forward.
thanks for the comments.
would love to move the engine forward , but restricted
by position of output shafts from the gearbox
I could move it maybe 20 to 30 mm forward as at the moment it dead central with the gearbox output and wheel ctr.
move more than 20 to 30mm and I think it would put to much strain on the shaft joints
I can tilt it 1 maybe 2 degrees but think that's it.
I was going to shove a lot of stuff forward to get more weight towards the middle ie battery ect.
minimal design and complication was what I was going for
was originally going for 450 kg. but having calculated it that's out should end up around 500 to 550 kg probably 520 dry tank
still just a design exercise at the moment
Isn’t the latest MeV exo car designed to take the Toyota engine?
With all mid engine projects, I would recommend doing a weight distribution exercise.
Get lots of weight to the front, adjust wheelbase, get fuel tank @ Cof G.
Those that work best have more than 40% on the front axle with driver obviously.
From Weight distribution you can select tyre size and then suspension.

looked at Audi and Subaru
all to long and the boxes stick well out the back.
nice thought though
Angle the uprights parts of the chassis back about 15 degrees, especially the rollbar, will make it look a lot more 'sleek'. Looks a little
utilitarian at the moment.
Will also want either a bulge outwards in the top horizontal (or a drop) to allow elbow room.

i need clarification on "angle back"
I am under the impression that to comply with blue book the roll bar has to be vertical
if I'm wrong let me know please as I original designed the chassis with a 10 deg reverse angle and it did look much better.
I will admit I tend to design for function rather than style !
Have a look at

I like the Midlana roll cage
