just watched a video on youtube about the mk indy geezer who builds the cars said the early models suffered from bump steer, has anyone gone to the trouble of trying to dial this out by moving the rack position etc or does it require major chassis modification??

Mine is a 2006 model and had a fair amount of bump steer. I got rid of it by packing the rack mounts with washers. It's easy enough to fix.

My understanding is that if there is any present it can be corrected with spacing washers. It's certainly not a show stopper. iI don't plan to do a lot of racing so have concentrated on setting up my Indy for road use. Changing to rose jointed adjustable top wishbones (from Phil at Talon) have already improved my steering self centring and make the car feel more planted on straight roads. Once weather and wife give me a break to correctly setup the camber and toe-in I'll be following the instructions here on the forum to measure for bump steer and add packing washers to reduce it.

Thanks for that ,just wanted to make sure it didnt involve major surgery of the chassis
