sierra pedal box
Hi im building a tiger cat and am having trouble with my pedal box.
Its a sierra pedal box and have found that when i sit in the car the box is far too close to me and i have to bend my legs which is really
uncomfortable because my knee's are hitting on the steering wheel.
I cannot move the pedal box back or forth so the only way i think i can overcome this is to bend the pedals themself. Has anyone ever tried this
method or are there any other solutions?.
Ive considered floor mounted pedals, what benifits could i get out of fitting them?.

They don't bend, you'll have to cut'n'shut them. I did my Escort pedals and found the 1" chassis tubing is ideal for the
job.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I think I have seen people cut two "V"'s in each side, then bent the pedals, and welded them up...

I started out (briefly) with the Sierra pedal set but soon ditched them as being far to damn heavy and ugly.
Tried a Nissan Micra set as much smaller but they were a little too hard to adapt.
In the end I kept the small, light (and sprung return!) Micra throttle pedal (cut down) which is top mounted and made up my own floor mount brake and
clutch pedals.
I used some of the cheap and nasty Lolocost suspension bushes as pedal bushes.

James

I used box section to straighten mine out as well, pictures can be found here My Picture Gallery
However I am going to put a bit of steel plate in the pedal area just in case I do swap over to floor mounted ones.
Cheers

Here is a pisture of mine, showing them straitened out. I just cut and shut them, welded up, and added a reinforcing plate on the back. Hope this
helps. atb Chippy.
