Will this Rad fit ?
I was down the scrappie on my day of today and came across this rad..
It would seem ideal it has all the conections were I want them it doesnt have any thing I dont want and it even has a bleed screw.
It cost me £5 with fan and its in very good condition..
Im using a zetec.....
Small its not ! 520mm wide by 420mm high max .
So does any one think it will OR wont fit ?

I think you will find the rad is to big as even the polo rads are a tight fit in a standard nose cone. The fan is worth a fiver though and should fit
a smaller rad.

Nope im trying to concentrate on the running gear first.
Ive red posts with rads of about this size fitting at a 20 deg angle ?

Those blades look like metal - would need plenty of current to get those going! Looks a reasonable size but only testing will confirm whether it will
fit or not. As Pat say's mount it on an angle if it's too tall. The width looks alright IIRC our Micra Rad is 21" wide.
You fail to mention what it is from...?

Nope the blades are plastic .. I had it running very happily on a small 1.9 a/h battery that ive got for playing with the megajolt ecu..seems to move
plenty of air.
Its from a Renault van dont know what model or year as the plates and badges had been removed ..looked like a small transit

Buy a nose cone, even an old battered one - then you'll now for sure - you'll need one anyway one day!
You can then get it mounted, all plumbed and running.

Chris_R had a rad from a Rover 214 a while ago, that he measured as 525mm L x 460mm H. I cut a bit of cardboard 530mm wide and 430mm high and laid it
flat in my MK Indy nose.
It just sort of fits, see this thread here or this photo here.

If it does fit it'll be mega tight.

P.S. I don't know if there is a difference in width / height between a strict "book" nose and an Indy one?

Don't forget about hose positions. The beauty of the escort rads where that with hoses going in/out at top and bottom they didn't foul
with chassis rails. Hoses on side like polo etc. are a real pain because the bottom hose idealy goes straingth through the front trapizeum.
Some nose cones are better than others, I found the indy nose cone raises quite shrply at the bottom so space is limiteed for mounting radiator at an
angle.
