After a few weeks of being too busy to get into the garage I spent a few evenings up there this week and finally got that big v8 out of my beemer.
I've also started to (very carefully) remove the wiring loom, labelling all the connections as I go. There seems to be an awful lot of it.
I'll probably get the gearbox and prop off it this week. All that will be left then will be to roll it outside and get all the bits off that
allow it to roll (hubs/brakes/axle etc etc).
I'm hoping to start chassis fabrication some time next month.
It's slow going but at least I'm making progress.

Bit of a late reply, but the Viento is about 6" wider than RC's book.
Thought you might like to know, as a) engine will fit, b) it's a known quality and c) you'll be able to get bodywork
