Currently building a type 7 will be fitting 1.8 zetec. I am aware that the sump will need modding for clearance or is there an alternative apparently they are very pourous and a pain to weld. I have heard that vthe CVH sump may fit any ideas ????
A sierra 1.8 cvh sump and pickup pipe will bolt straight up to the zetec

You will need to drill a couple holes in the block and tap them as there are more holes in the CVH sump than on the Zetec block.
Surrey Dave on here has performed this operation.

If you fettle it with an angry grinder...
If you're not in any great hurry then there is a possibility that I may have a modded Zetec sump going spare shortly.
(Just got to get round to doing it)
They are not that difficult to weld and seal
It’s all a matter of preparation.
It's not the material that’s the problem, it's the cruddy deposits from the oil that if you don't clean off 100% then it
"gasses" whilst welding and cause the weld to become porous.
Are the sumps steel?
Only fettling I did was ,a few taps with a ball peen hammer to get more clearance in the area where the oil pipe bolts on, also drilled and tap more
holes , with the block upturned , did not take long, yes they are steel so you can easily modify the depth/shape to suit.
Will post picture later...........
