Has anyone used one of these cars?
Late 80's these were imported to the States and sold under Mitsubishi as the Starion or were sold by Chrysler as the Conquest. Not sure if they
were available in Europe or UK.
Car is a rear-wheel drive setup with a 2.6 litre SOHC turbocharged 4-cyl. Most all were 5 speeds. Wheels are 16" stock. The ones in the picture
are stock. I love the way the rears are dished deeper than the fronts.
I still like these cars. Might have a hard time cutting one up for parts Still, finding a wrecked one shouldn't be too hard. Just curious if
anyone out there knows about the uprights/axles/running gear/suspension setup on this car?

I; for one; agree with you Jermyn. I used to love those cars.... just the aggressive styling made it look so cool.
I was only a 'young un' when these were in their heyday, so I know very little about them.
Still a stunner today!
Yea. I think they look the best of the late 80's sports cars. A close second is the Toyota Supra. Rx7 is last on my list for looks but first on
the donor list right now.
But, these cars are CHEAP! I just don't know anything about performance upgrades availability for the motor, reliability or any of that.
My main concern is if the running gear is usable. If not, I still would love to use the wheels. I prefer these to any of the RX7 wheels. I just think
they look tough.
If anyone can offer any info or pictures on the uprights/suspension....I'd be very grateful.
Wasn't it the Colt Starion??
Adam
yup it was in the days when mitsubishi went under the name Colt- Colt Starion, Colt Lancer, Colt Sigma, Colt Cordia etc in a similiar manner to
Nissans being badged as Datsuns in the 70s and 80s. can u tell i was a car nut when i was a lad? Though i believe later Starions were badged as
Mitsubishis, and were somewhat cooler, having flared arches and wider wheels (as in pic above)

And of course they were called "Starion" because of the Japanese inabilty to pronounce their "L"s the car was to be called
"Stalion" as in male horse!!!
Cheers
Chris
