wasnt sure where to put this, so apologies if ive put it in the wrong section.
i have a master cylinder from my 1.8sierra - and i cant find in haynes, or any other book which flared pipe goes into which hole in the cylinder.
there are 3 threaded holes in the cylinder.
could someone please tell me which pipe goes into which hole.
ive done the front and rear 't' joint things, so not sure which is the front section on the master cylinder, and what the 3rd hole is used
for
cheers
If its the same as my 2.0 sierra, the front 2 go to the fronts, the rear to the rear
Hi Tom,
As mark says, the 2 outlets at the front of the M/C are for front brakes, 1 left and 1 right and the rear outlet is for both the rear brakes via a T
piece.

Yes, as the other two guys have confirmed the front two go to the front wheels and the rear to the rear. I have literally just finished plumbing in my
brake pipes tonight so it is very fresh in my mind...
I don't know if SVA would complain if you were to just use one outlet and a tee-piece on the front. I don't think that the front two outlets
on the m/cyl have any special valving so I don't think it "should" be a problem. However, I would strongly recommend using the master
cylinder as intended or it will most likely attract the inspector's attention and you don't want that!
The rear outlet is fed from a different part of the fluid reservoir and is pressurised by the rear piston in the tandem cylinder so it must go to the
rear circuit via a tee-piece.
Cheers,
Craig.
cheers guys - thats my job sorted for today then.
