Been offered an Alfa 75 3 litre v6 the old rwd model for much cheapness, thought of taking it on as my next project (if I ever finish this one).Anyone
got any thoughts on this ?
Its got a cracking engine seems a shame to see it go to the scrappy.
Cheers,
Bob
has it got the gearbox and diff in one at the rear?ps i need a sun roof relay for my 155
Havent looked at it that closely to tell you the truth, its my son in laws and its been sitting in his drive for a coupla years.
No matter what happens to it if its got a sunroof relay I'll stick it in my pocket for you.
Cheers,
Bob
as you say engine is a blinder, must fit something
'box is in the rear, might fit a (fairly long) middy, with a shortened prop.
rear axle is a watts linkage, and should be useble.
front suspension is useable, but uses longitudinal torsion bars. You shoul be able to make up some fairly simple wishbones to suit (it's double
wishbone as standard)
When properly engineered, it should and will be a winner!
One of the world's best engines - got to be worth having, put it in a locost with a transparent bonnet to show it off
Or mate it to a Renault/Hewland/Audi/VW transaxle and stick longitudinally in the back of a Terrapin

or the Trident single seater John Sims builds (see current issue of Kit Car magazine). Paint it red, fit gold Cromodoros and pretend you're Chris
Amon.

Dont some of the Alfa's have a flat 4? Front wheel drive. Was it the 33
Think how low the C of G would be and you could use it as a rear engined car
Sorry i think someone else thought of that, Namely Adolf buid me a peoples car Hiltler... oh well nice idea
Main problem with the 75 is the transaxle, the polish locost comany (name escapes at the mo) used one, but the seats looked about 12" higher than
normal - a bit odd looking

Could you not just make the car a bit wider, the transaxle doesn't look too huge...
Is that inboard brakes on that piccy too?
Certainly more interesting to look at than an escort axle.
