What have people done instead of using the following?

Mine has up down play in and i'd like to make it better until i get the paddle shift made up!
Photos would be great, and id like something i can create at home with little/no welding as i cant do that easily!
Thanks... Charlie

Here's mine if its any use to you. Its conected to my paddle shift and works well.

The gearbox lever on yours looks like it might be a bit thin and the joint is a long way out from it which could be giving quite a bit of
flex/twist.
