BEC steering stability
Hi all. I have an Indyblade and the front end is very twitchy at speeds over 60mph (When attempting to drive in a straight line) I find it fairly hard
to not get into a bit of a 'tank slapper' without backing off. Is this a traight of a bec due to the light front end which I simply need
to get used to (I've only driven it about 3 times) or is there something I should check/do?

I took a while to get used to driving mine. You need to relax and don't grip the wheel like a gorilla
That said, you description sounds quite extreme - maybe you need to check the camber and toe-in. Can't remember the correct values - somebody
with a brain/memory will probably be along in a moment!!!

sounds like it just needs setting up, mine gets abit tail happy when pushed to hard round corners, have a look at the videos on hellfires site that
should give you an idea of how well they generaly handle

I can think of 2 things to check:
1. Set the front up for 0 degrees toe-in, or maybe a touch inwards. Toe-out make for a twitchy car.
2. make sure that the rear ride height is higher than the front. having a high front is a well-known cause of excitement at speed!

After at Newark noticing the front top suspension arms fitted to the wrong sides on a certain members indy having heard him complaining for probably 2
years of the problem your describing I would check that first.
The offset of the top and bottom ball joints should be slopping to the rear of the car!
He now reports it to drive like a different car

Yes I agree with locoR1 top wishbones on the wrong way round gives the feeling you discribe,so check that first,on a smooth road,you should be able
to take both hands off the wheel at 120mph they are that stable at speed.

I can guarantee that it drives like a totally different car know
I've also put 12mm spacers under the rack to lift it slightly that's helped to

Mine was like that when it was first on the road, i found that the ride hieght was to high, the stroke on the damper would run out and that was with a
boat anchor fitted.

I'll double check the pressures. What should they be roughly. It came with (i think) fairly cheap tyres Toyo Proxes T1-S. 195/50R15 82V.

I've taken a picture of the right front. What do you guys think, right way round? To help orientate the front of the car is to the right as you
look at it. Thanks for your help

Thanks for the advice on the suspension. I've checked tyre pressures and they were fairly uneven so have changed them all to 17 as suggested by
ruskino and kev.
It is already much better but still a bit twitchy at the front end. It's ok when accelerating but the problem actually arisies when I lift off
the throttle at highish speed, it also gives a bit of a wobble when I dip the clutch when changing up.
It almost points towards when the weight transfers to the front at speed so may well be the ride heights I guess??
