Where to start.

I have decided that after driving my mates Locost with a blade engine in that i have to build one.
I am completly new to all this so can anyone advise me on what chassis is best to use, my mates has a Stuart Taylor chassis.
I also want to use a GSXR1000 or Hayabusa engine.
Any advise will be very helpful. Ideally i would like to have a chat with someone and if they local enough maybe go and see there handy work just so i get an idea of what is what, i would ask my mate but he brought the car already built but not SVA'd.
