Sierra drive shafts

The CV boots are replaceable.

I dont think you can do much with the CV joint itself. Other than replace it, that is.

The CV joint requires the use of CV joint grease.

A boot kit will come with a pack of correct cv grease.

Its really thick and horrible and is not runny like in your picture. Its the correct cv grease you need and not oil!

If somebody's been experimenting by pouring oils and things they've had left in jars, into your joint, then it may be frigged.
The pukka stuff is a a high pressure type grease (known as Moly grease -molybdenum disulfide grease) All the lubricant manufacturers do one and a variety of synthetic ones too. They usually come in a mastic-gun size tube.

Alternatively ask your local spotty autoparts attendant for a sachet of 'CV grease'

Oh, yea, & don't put it in your mouth.

You've used that tray for something else beforehand haven't you?
