Blade cooling/rad question
Hi,
Yesterday I took my car out for the 2nd test trial. The car ran fine however I noticed that the water was flowing to the expansion tank at a
significantly high rate. The temperature gauge (I am using the bike clocks) was showing hot when it was not.
The fan didn't come in either and I bypassed it straight on the ignition to ensure that the engine didn't overheat. The temperature still
remian on the H even if the block felt ok.
I am using a built in switch fan form an escort/orion (built in the water pipe) and my radiator is mounted higher than the engine but my expanasion
tank is lower that the radiator top tank. I haveattached a pictire of my setup
Cheer
Is this normal?

I think the expansion tank is meant to be higher than the rad.

Yep, expansion tank should be the highest point in the system otherwise gravity will probably drain some of the rad back into the tank.

Expansion tank must be highest, if nothing else to collect any air in the system.
The thermostatic switch may be to hot, you may need to get a cooler one for it to come on, or idepending wheer it is, you may have an air pocket
around it.
The temp gauge, may be a different problem altogether assuming you are using the sensor on the thermostat housing on the engine, does it read OK cold
then read hot too soon?
Else again it could be down to air or as you mention bad water flow

Is that rad on it's side?
If so, don't think it will work as intended.
