Triumph power?

Had a ride in an indy at TKLC which was ZX12R powered and I'm hooked, but can anyone tell me if any Triumph engines are suitable for a 7?
Ta!

I imagine the speed triple engine would be quite good - nearly 955cc and a complete hooligan of a bike, which is always a good sign for a BEC!

Probably cheaper than the main stay R1/GSXR/Blade etc. as demand for BEC application probably isn't quite as high.

I used to have a 1200cc Triumph and thought that it would make a great BEC - loads of torque.

Cheers,

Speak to Chaos999 on here / Simon Neill on the Yahoo BEC list, he's got a triple in his GTS Challenger (Lotus 11 replica)

I've had a few Trumpets. The triple engines are a great compromise in a bike. Lots of grunt, and will pull hard and hi into the revs. Sound fantastic too.
Early Daytonas' hard a gearbox fault, 4th gear was weak, (i've blown 2 of them)
Added bonus of being comparatively cheap, but a bit on the heavy side, considering its a triple.
The 4 pot 1200 Trophy lump was a brute, Triumph were knocking out 150bhp bikes a long time ago.

Gingoistic bit........Its British, that has to worth something.

John

Lets not forget the Rocket 3.

2.3 litre

Maximum Power 142PS (140bhp) at 5,750 rpm
Maximum Torque 200Nm (147ft.lbf) at 2,500 rpm

Hi,
Yep still here and engine is still going!! It has been making a nosiy mechanical sound at idle but seemed to blitz round BRands all day okay! Done 2 trips to LeMans too.

The Challenger is for sale now as it is my only transport and wife not too happy about taking me to work every day at moment... So it's got to go quick. The complete car (3,000 miles) and a good spare complete engine (to pop in if the noise gets worse) is on ebay for £4995 if anyone wants a pretty well sorted car??

955i engine is fantastic, sounds glorious, only boken a gear shift cable in 2 years of use.

Simon
