Pinto rad cap

Hi

occasionly i get water coming out of the expansion tank overflow, i've just flushed the cooling system and put new antifreeze in, but i've notised the rad cap is only rated at 13 LBS

Acording to my haynes manual it should be 15 to 18 LBS's, the temp guage never goes above about 105, and the rad fan soon brings it down

Will changing to a higher rated cap help?

Is it ?

It only gets to 105 when in traffic, the rad fan comes on about 98, but because the fan temp switch is near the bottom on a vw rad the temp rises slightly before the fan brings it back down
