gear cable bracket

Fitted my R1 engine over the weekend but came stuck when connecting the gear cable - there's no bracket to hold the "outer" so that when you push the gear lever, you just move the outer, not the gears.

I will need to make a bracket, whcich shouldn't be too hard if I can make it out of aluminium. How strong does it need to be? Is there much force needed to change gears on an R1? Can it be safely mounted to the aluminium plate at the front of my foot well or do I need to route it near a steel crossmember?

You'll need one at each end of the cable (or at least some means of securing it). Who ever sold you the cable will also stock all the quick release balljoints and brackets etc.
Or try here.

Cheers, Rorty.
