xflow water pump leaking

I have just noticed a slight drip coming from the water pump on my xflow.

There is small round hole underneath the shaft housing where it is coimng from.
What is the hole for ? and does it mean i need a new pump.

Any answers before i shell out !!!

Peter

It's what they call a weep hole. it is there to show you when the seals are going.
buy a replacement, they are real cheap.

Yes new pump --- the drain hole is between the bearing and the seal it stops very sllight seepage ruinning the bearing -- but if you can see it drip the seal is shot.
