I just had a quick look at the sasperformance site and spotted this pic.
What is supporting the upper shock mount? Is it a weld bead?

JESUS H.C. that's mad!!

It definately does look that way. It begs the question - will it pass SVA like that?

that looks REALLY dodge, it should at least be triangulated on to the chassis rail!

If that's a ST loco chassis...

... which it appears to be, then I think it's just a trick of the photo.

My ST chassis has the upper mount there but it actually overlaps the chassis rail by some distance - it's just the angle at which the photo's taken which makes it looks like it's on one edge only.

If you see any other ST photos have a look. I certainly wouldn't worry about ST's ability to design a sensible chassis .

have a look at this pic

http://www.sasperformancecars.co.uk/images/Coolant_pipes.jpg

This one shows both brackets, and you can just see on the one at the top of the photo (left of the car I think) that it actually overlaps the full thickness of the chassis rail, so there's a lot of contact & weld to provide a strong joint.

Fair enough. It does seem as if the bracket is more than 50% under the top tube.

It scared me for a moment!

as I've already driven mine, so if it did really only hang on by a thread I'd be a bit concerned!

CBR 1000

Hi Guys
Yes it is a trick of the camera gave you all something to talk about for a bit. The bracket actually goes right under the chassis rail.Black car with nitrous belongs to my brother and I just passed the MOT and going for SVA on Thursday fingers all crossed. Then its up to TTS to be set up before the nitrous is turned on. It's a Wizard of NOS setup with computer controller. Should put out a nice bit of power. Anyone run a CBR1000 before???

The ST Chassis'd Locoblade on the SAS Performance Cars website looks the dogs danglies.
I've seen it close up and it really is fully sorted and extremely well built. The pictures don't do it justice.
I went to see it, and had a good chat with the 3 lads running the place. They even turned down approaches from some of the major manufacturers for them to become agents. They wanted to remain independent.
The build quality and attention to detail is second to none.
Best of luck to them.

Cheers

I second everything that Clanger has said. I'm delighted to be buying the black MK. I'm also delighted to be dealing with the guys from SAS- top blokes!

I have plenty of photos on the camera - will have to download sometime and post some here.

I'd be grateful if everyone could cross all fingers and toes for the SVA tomorrow.

Thanking you....
