My mate Sean just bought this. Lovely wee book std Locost Blade. Well built, and looks good, fully and correctly SVA'd.
I love the bit where the guy asks about the 900cc engine being slow.
I saw it this afternoon and it is very tidy, we know the bloke who built it and he did a very tidy job.
This now means Sean has his CBR1000 track car for sale.

Looks almost identical to mine, Ive not seen many others with the MK book chassis (as opposed to Indy), looks like an ST manifold and engine cradle to
me, just like mine too.

Yep it's a ST exhaust manifold and cradle, I forgot to mention it has a Sierra diff and a De Dion back end. It's a home made chassis with
MK bodywork. Seems well engineered.
It is noticably smaller than my Indy.
Got it for less than the price on e-bay.
Total Bargain.
I reckon it'd be difficult to built comparable for the same price.
We're discussing using his CBR1000 car for some Frankenstien style experimenting. Maybe fitting a turbo onto it?
Any ideas anyone?

Are you sure its a home-made chassis, it looks identical to mine, exactly the same roll hoop shape / size, same MK rounded wishbones on the front,
exactly the same throttle mounting bracket on the scuttle etc? Id bet money on it being an MK book chassis that was originally intended for Locost
racing.

I'm 99% sure it was built from scratch.
I knew of it's construction, the bloke that built it, and the guy that had it built for him.
That said, I'll ask again, but I'm pretty sure it was built from scratch.
I do know for a fact that the de dion system at the back is of Darryl's own design - that's the bloke that built it.
It's definitely not an MK de-dion - I have another mate with one of those, and a good job it is too - he's sticking a GSXR1000 in it. The
De dion is different between the two.

I assumed it was a "bolt on" type de-dion kit like GTS Tuning make, its fairly simple to convert a live axle chassis to de-dion.
Have a look at this pic of mine, ignoring that Ive got ST bodywork, there is some striking similarities, the roll hoop etc looks identical and it uses
the same wishbones etc.

Maybe mine was built by the same chap! I bought the rolling chassis off someone who was building it up as a Locost racer, Im sure he told me it was an
MK chassis and the suspension design seemed to fit in with that (the curved rather than triangular suspension arms) so I never had reason to think
otherwise.
Maybe you could find out a bit more and see if he knows of any other chassis that were made the same?

I'll make enquiries.
The wishbones are MK 'book' standard items. They certainly does look similar. If worst comes to worst next time I'm up at
Sean's I'll bring my digital camera and take a few snaps of the back end.

I was round at Sean's tonight and I asked him about it - he confirmed what I had thought.
The book width chassis was built from scratch by Miller (not Darryl as I originally mentioned) - he's a well known NI kit car builder - he had a
local engineering works create the de dion bar in the back for him.
It uses MK wishbones and bodywork and a ST cradle and exhaust.

He did build this car and another car - virtually identical, for two blokes at the same time. They are both black De Dion locosts, escort track
width, blade powered with ST cradles.
The two cars were built for Richard Key and Adrian (forget his second name).
The one that was sold was Adrian's car, Richard still has his.

Hmm maybe its nothing to do with mine then after all, without seeing some more pics of the chassis its hard to tell, its just that Ive never seen
another chassis as similar as that to mine, the roll hoop shape etc. Maybe mine is an MK book chassis after all, and this chap copied Martins design?
Anyway no probs about the phone number
