MNR Reverse Box Dilemma
Bit of a dilenmma and not to start an argument.
I have conflicting information and observations as to which way round this bloody thing should be fitted.
I about killed myself getting it in an back together for Stoneleigh and I'm happy with how it ran (Forwards) with the new props and diff.
Vibration free etc etc
But ran out of time to fit a lever arrangement (which wil probably be more elaborate than the pic)and knob.
So this is how it's fitted

Have I got to strip it all out again?
Is it OK as it is?
Will it blow up?
What say you?

Can't help, but hope its right as mine is that way round. I was told a couple of years ago that was the correct way to have it. I've also
heard it can go either way.

Yours is fitted the same way as mine, but I did not fit it, but it looks right to me, mine sounds ok, and works ok

Hi
We fitted ours that way & it works fine. however we did make a new longer re-enforced lever,
as we found the original too short for our needs, also fitted a microswitch under the lever for reversing light.

Thats a good idea with the reverse switch under the lever, Ive got a switch on the dash, but might have to use your idea

Hi
Its a microswitch from RS components, I also have a bright led on the slopped part of the tunnel
and a beeper bulb in the reverse lamp, as its very easy to forget that its in reverse especially as
we have flappy paddle gear change.

Thanks again that's spot on. ( think the measirements for tyhe rear prop are the same too!
A couple of questions:
(Three actualy!
Were you recommended to have the slide joint at the diff end?
Have you set the box central on the tunel?
Is your engine angled in line with the chassis side rail?
