How to replace the sprocket on this diff ???
Hi all,
I have a RoadRunner SR-1 that needs new sprockets and chain.
I already managed to remove the front sprocket from the R1 engine and to remove the diff.
Now I have no idea how to remove the sprocket from the diff. There are no bolts or c-clips to be seen.
Is this a brute force job, or am I missing something?
Tips appreciated

Looks like a Quaife diff. Not sure where you're looking but I can clearly see the bolts holding the sprocket on. You need to pull the CV joint
out of the diff, they just knock in on the Quaife and it shouldn't be difficult to get out. I'd try gently levering the CV joint away from
the diff maybe also with a gentle tap with a hammer.

Figured I would have to pull it apart, but still not sure where the pulling needs to be done.
What part is exactly the CV joint ? and what exactly will come off?
Will there be stuff falling/leaking out of it?
Will I need to replace anything to avoid leaking or such?

As said above, first remove the CV joint housing, it is held by a wire clip on the splines inside the differential.
Requires a good hit with a hammer and lever to get this to come out.
Next you will have to get the sideplate and bearing carrier off the unit.
You can probably heat up the bearing carrier (hot air gun), this should expand the carrier enough to enable you to pull off the bearing carrier from
the bearing.
If you are lucky, you might be able to remove the bearing from the spigot of the differential, but probably not essential as the sprocket should fit
over the bearing.
Then remove the sprocket bolts and pull off the sprocket.
The differential will probably have grease inside therefore nothing should run out once you remove the CV joint.

Great, got the CV-joint off
Gonna go get some help with the bearing carrier, tried heating it up, but it won't give ... so off to my bike mechanic

I had one custom made.
Needed to remove the old one, count the teeth and measure the distance between the bolts.
Got it delivered within a week. Cost me about 170€ for the front and rear sprocket + a new chain

Replace it with a split sprocket , I had a quaife diff a while back and it used a split Talon sprocket.
Some pics in my quaife folder I think.
Swapping in future will be much quicker.

A split sprocket on the SR-1 diff (at least mine) doesn't help out since the bolts can't be reached without splitting the diff.
Not such a big issue since I don't change the gearing (too much hassle) and since the sprocket should easily last 2 seasons (when keeping the
chain nice and tight).
