R1 4c8 (08) Mounting Position
What position do I sit the engine at as is with the sump line horizontal
Or is it the Yamaha on the engine casing horizontal
position

Don't know about the 08, but the earlier ones sit in the bike with the base of the sump level . However in many cars they have been mounted at
an angle in order to get them under the bonnet. Mine is like that with the sump gasket almost level. 10000 hard miles and no problems. A few of the
RGB cars are like that as well I believe.

If i had to guess i would say the Yamaha horizontal. assuming with the sump flat on the floor the logo is horizontal?
As you know my 4xv has the sump bottom level not the sump joint line. don't know if the 4C8 is the same though!
Got an exhaust manifold yet?????

Considering bike engines are designed to work in an environment where they are thrown from one side to the other by more 45 degrees each way I cant
see 5-10 degrees making a huge difference.
(Just an uneducated observation)

Pick exhaust manifold up tomorrow LocoR1....
think it will be the Yamaha horizontal as sump will sit flat as well

On my 5vy (which i believe is very similar to the 4c8) the sump bottom is parallel to the floor, which will also bring the yamaha logo level too
