How did you do yours?
Hi all,
Could you please give me a picture or description for how you attached the gear cable at the engine end (BEC)?
ETA: I should have made this a little clearer, I am going to use a paddleshift, similar to Hellfire's.
I am not sure about the best way to mount the cable, and don't have any welding equipment/skills .

p.s. had an awesome little drive in the dales this afternoon, nice little backroad from hawes to ingleton (don't tell too many!)

I modified the gear shift crank on the engine to take a rose-joint and used cranks and push-rods back to the gear stick. Works well....

Ditto, can't comment on function yet tho as haven't driven it
Was simpler and cheaper than a cable.

There is a really shitty hand drawing in my photo archive showing (kind of!!) how it works on my car. If you can make sense of it, that is!!!

Hi, heres mind done with a cable.
Goes to the box end with the arm at 6 o clock and does to the right paddle shift. Bracket is two bits of hardened steel bolted to the rails of the
bulkhead. Hope thats some help

Hi Adam, that is actually a really useful pic, I could use the front bulkhead then...
How far would you say the bracket is from the gear lever? I want a very positive feel, does the distance create any slack at all?

Hi James, Bolt the cable to the gearbox lever then see where the centre of the threaded portion sits. if you base it in the centre you will have
adjustment at either end to make it tighter or looser. If you do at one end it could end up too tight or too loose. It does pull with quite a force so
make sure you use thick strong steel.

Hi Adam, I getcha, makes sense doing it your method. I have some 4mm aluminium, do you think that will be ok? It seems quite sturdy to me.
Also, where did you get your cable from?
