Id go cable as it cheap easy to route and you dont need any pivots. Cable £10 outboard motor cable off ebay push/pull couple of rose joints jobs a
udun .
Cable can also give a better shift if you mount the backet on the engine so it move with the engine also a bit gentler on the change

I went for cable as above for easy routing.
got mine from here.
They also sell the securing clasp type thing too.
If I recall correctly the ends are m5 and its cheaper to buy rodend's/clevis from the bay than from them.
I also went for the supreme cable as it was better for the tighter bends and for the little extra I thought it would be worth it.

Would have to say cable easier to fit and less complicated that rods and pivots.
I had my cable made to order to the length + with the joints i wanted from midwest controls in the usa and it only cost just over £30 delivered they
even sent it as a commercial sample so no import tax!

I went for rods on mine. Mainly because there was a convenient place to mount a pivot (only needed one) and the rod lines were nice and easy to
accomodate. I had a cable but mounting the ends was more difficult.
Whichever you go for, make sure the pivot or cable outer anchor points are firm enough not to flex. A small amount of flex makes a huge difference to
the feel.

Out of curiosity, any particular you not chosen electric as an option Matt? I'm not that far into my build to even start researching the
pro's and con's of each but just wondered why noone has mentioned it...
edit: and if you cant get electric paddleshift then just ignore me... had a long day tidying the garage

Brad i have only got pics of the dash end if you want some of the engine bay i can take some tomorrow to cold out there now
Cable isnt fitted but you should get the idea.
engine bay end will depend on your engine the r1 gear change is high up so my cable is bracketed of the diagonal rail in the engine bay.

Hi Brad. Here is the fabricated upper cable bracket on our Phoenix. It is VERY stiff and securely bolted to the cross tube of the cage. The bolts
come upwards through tubes welded into the cage tube. As already stated, stiffness is paramount.
The paddles are Titanium.
Geoff.
