Just spent three hours re-doing my fan / cooling system with the fan in this thread:-

and I can't get my normal crimp connectors into it.
Anyone got a plug spare?
Or know where I can get one before Saturday?
Mike
Your best bet is the nearest breakers with metros in it there should be a rover part number stamped on the fan somewhere contact a local rover
dealer(yes there are some still around) to match the fan to the model go to a yard and get the plug.
Or remove the motor get access to the leads bypass/remove the plug wire/extend new wires to fit your loom.
As above its from a metro. H-J plate onwards.
See Link for pic and info
Thanks
Off to the scrappy in a mo!

Arrrgghhhh
Been to three scrappies this morning. No Metro's in any of them!
Been to a (ex) Rover dealer, who couldn't help.

I take it you need some of the smaller crimps. Can you take the fan to a motor factors or similar to see if they have connectors to fit. Maybe even an
auto electrician. There must be something that will fit it.
Do you have pic of the pins?
Just finking - are the pins shrouded by plastic 'cover'? Can this be cut away to give better access for fitting the crimps on?
Thanks Darren
I've been looking at other fans in the Rover range on ebay and it looks like the connectors might be a common part.
I think I'll be able to get a mini female spade connector in there if I can't get a proper connector, so off to Maplin in a bit.

it looks to me that there are blades sticking out in a connector housing.
are you able to measure the width?
the blades are avaialble in various sizez, 4.7 mm being common, 6.8 mm found on alternator and smaller ones available.
Maplins may have the size you want other wise you could try to bend the connector to make it narrower until you find the right plug.
Alternatively can you get at the wires going to the plug and do away with the plug altogether?
or taking that idea ^^^^^ further - solder some wires directly to the pins on the fan and fit a new plug so it can still be disconnected easily (or even use bullet connectors).
Thanks to Big Wasa!
He sent me a plug in the post.

If you need one today you could take mine (from a Rover 214 btw - same fan, same plug) and let me have the one when you get it in the post.
