Hi guys
Really hoping someone can help
I`ve fitted a Race Tech Dash 2 to my Tiger Avon.. Got most things working currently onto the fuel tank level sensor.
Just fitted new 30ltr tank with level sender (1 wire) 10-180ohms
I have routed a 5v out wire from the dash 2 to the sender. Now this is where i come stuck. I`m using a Multimeter to measure the voltage but I'm
not getting any voltages even if its full or empty.
Can anyone guide me in right direction PLEASE
why are you running 5v to the sensor?
I thought the sensor would give a varying resistance to earth (chassis,0v)
and the dash just connect to the sensor. -no power direct to the sensor.
There's a page on the RT site which should help
Single Wire Sensor
Thanks
Got it wired up as per instructions but not going to lie getting confused with the resistor part hence looking for some guidance.
Can you be a bit more specific please?
if I were starting where you are, I would get a big pack of resisters, - and still probably only use one! individual resistor's seem to cost the
same as packs of hundreds.
you probably only want a 180 or 220 ohm.
learning the rainbow colour codes can be challenging, but the individual strip packs should be marked, or a cheep multimeter should suffice.

Thanks for the link
I`ll order today, this is confusing but I like to try sort myself to get an understanding. Be easier to just buy an aftermarket plug and play lol
Once you get the hang of it you'll be looking at all sorts of sensors to plug in.
Bosch do all sorts of temp sensors and pressure sensors which can be wired in. The fun comes when you have to figure out how to programme the software
to convert the resistance to an output.
I got most sensors in
I`ve had a lesson today here at my garage on how to get an understanding of how they work
Out of interest what are you using for oil pressure?
I can't log it as I've only got a gauge.
Just brought a Racetech oil pressure sensor, not cheap but least it was plug n play
