How is this done? I'm petrified of cracking that glass - A load of 4mm rivets would hardly do?

Do you mean fixing the glass to the frame?

I used Sikkaflex inside a rubber moulding from Woolies.

Or fixing the frame to the upright?

I drilled holes in the frame, countersunk on the inside, 2ba screws through from the inside into tapped holes in the support which didn't go all the way through the material.

They're stopped from undoing by the afore mentioned rubber moulding round the frame and by loctiteing the screws.

works for me.

Sorry I meant actually fixing the windscreen to the pillar support things. My problem is that it's a Luego screen and the aluminium surround seems to be stuck fast to the rubber/glass so countersinking may not be an option. Is there another way to do this before I try to pry the thing apart? A phonecall to Grant might be in order tomorrow.

Mark , when I did mine I laid the pillar supports on top of each other , marked and drilled the holes for both the pillar to scuttle fittings and also the pillar to screen screws . Get an extra pair of hands and place the screen in place on scuttle with pillar in position. Did one side at a time , then mark through the pillars onto screen frame , very carefully drill and tap screw holes . DO NOT GO TO FAR WITH DRILL OR TAP . Counter sink pillar and secure using short countersunk screws, check alignment and repeat for other side. Use loctite on screws

Do be careful, I didn't realise the glass was already in. Perhaps a depth guage on the drill bit is called for.

May be worth removing glass from screen before drilling / tapping , suspect frame would then be "wobbly" so perhaps cutting a piece of ply using the glass as a template to restore rigidity might be a good idea?

Caterham use 3 M5 rivnuts in each side. Just make sure the bolts are short enough!!
