fuel filler hose
Mark100 - 20/2/17 at 12:02 AM

filling the tank for the first time today (ive been using small bike tank to test before )
the filler pipe is the flexi type with wire swirl running up it straight out the top of the tank turns 90
then out the side of the car behind the driver

but filling it loads of petrol leaked out were the flexi pipe joins the tanks
like its running down the inside of the pipe and throw a jap between the hose and the tank filler neck
maybe because of the wire ???

How do you seal this ??????????????????? its got two ring clamps on it as is
Gel sealer , tape , or change the filler hose to a smother type

Not sure you're allowed to 'throw a jap' these days

Have you tried this sort of clip?- DOUBLE WIRE PIPE CLIPS SCREW TIGHT FIT 1/2" HOSE JUBILEE KOI FISH POND FITTING

You never mentioned if the neck on the tank has threads on it or plain tube. Only reason I mention this as the tank I have inherited on an unfinished project has threaded neck and I imagine it will be harder to seal when I get round to re-fitting later.
How snug a fit is your hose on the neck? If the hose is too large for the neck it maybe that you have crease that's allowing the fuel to escape.
I still haven't figured what I will do with my threaded neck yet.

I used Mikalor clamps. Not had a problem.
