What would be impressive would be if he came up with a full body option along the lines of the lotus 2-eleven.

joneh - 22/5/08 at 05:18 PM

I think they should call it "Public Disorder".

locoboy - 22/5/08 at 05:23 PM

Less than 400kg isnt that light really, I heard someone on the MK stand at Stoneleigh bigging up the lack of weight in the Sprint r at 370kgs.

My GTS panther with some non essentials weighed in at 480kgs so the weight saving isnt THAT big imho.

Its going to weigh even more when its triangulated properly

Should you perhaps not ask him then??? P.S. I saw the car a few weeks ago down at Martins gaff and it's coming along nicely.

mad gaz - 22/5/08 at 05:44 PM

just rang martin .he said its fine its not a secret he already got a few orders and on the weight thing 100kg saving is massive in BHP terms, 30-40BHP imho Rescued attachment mk midi 023.jpg

I would say 400kgs for a 2 seater midi is super light,in fact it would be difficult to get a buget 2 seater much lighter, don't forget the sprint r is a single seater at 370kgs,I am sure martins onto another winner there,I too would love to see a full body on it,I think the market is crying out for a buget full bodied midi, but lets see what this one drives like 1st,then hopefully it will progress from there

scootz - 22/5/08 at 06:31 PM

I must be in grump-mode... I think it's completely lacking in imagination.

I have no problem with the midi concept, but do we really need another 7-esque bodyshape?

zzr1100rick2 - 22/5/08 at 08:19 PM

I reckon the roll bar looks a bit of an after thought would look nicer if it went all the way to the lower rails

But then what do i know

this one is a bit more of the like...

nitram38 - 22/5/08 at 10:16 PM

There's nothing stopping you guys designing your own...................

stevebubs - 22/5/08 at 10:44 PM

Guys,

call off the riot before you steal his mojo

I'll get me coat...

motorcycle_mayhem - 23/5/08 at 02:17 PM

"...I predict a R1ot.."

Another design beautiful in its simplicity. I love these designs. having already made up my mind to have a R1otious assembly -this appears....

Very similar. It's the "Monaco"

PAUL FISHER - 24/5/08 at 12:33 PM

Just noticed, looks like a Smartcar bike engine conversion in the background too Ive not been over to MK Engineering for a while, will have to go down now for look round.

lococost - 24/5/08 at 06:05 PM

I love it. I did think about the R1ot when I bought my MK, but the looks just killed it.

It just makes so much sense to put the motor in the back with a chain: less weight, less rotating mass, more height for sump and airbox, less diff losses... Let's hope Martin gets the body right, I think this will be a seller!

eznfrank - 25/5/08 at 06:38 AM

The smart has a Hayabusa in it, he was tinkering with it when I was down there. Think it's a customer car though not his own.

gixermark - 26/5/08 at 09:53 AM

if you want a full bodied mid engine - the GTR seems a good & well priced package..

Martin designed it - can't remember what he called it - MK1 ? now aries sells it - although supposedly improved ?

Keyzie - 19/9/19 at 10:13 AM

Hi, just got this and been trying to source few bits, do you know if MK Engineering is still going? website doesn't appear to be active.

Thanks

Adrian

Search MK engineering on Facebook, they've got a page
