Hi Guys
I need to buy some wheels and tyres and I don't really know what size I need. I have a Hayabusa ( 1.043 6th) and a 3.14:1 diff. I will use mainly
on the road with the occasional track day.
any suggestions?
Cheers
Jason
Other than deciding on gearing - if you do a search on this site there's a good calculator about - it's really down to identifying your
priorities.
13" rims will give you the least unsprung weight, a good selection of (cheaper) trackday type tyres and possibly the most forgiving drive due to
having a little more compliance in the tyre sidewall.
But.... 15" look better I wouldn't bother with 14" or 16" due to the limited tyres choices out there. IMHO 17" is too
big for a locost type car.

oh no it's going to be another wheel size debate
I have the PPC gear calculator with the 'Busa ratios plugged in and a tyre size calculator. All you'll need to do is type in your diff ratio and start inputting different tyre sizes to get the in gear speeds you want. Send me your email address by U2U and I'll send you a copy.
13" - Westfield MegaBusa factory fitment.
Split rims (e.g. Image BRM) will allow you to easily change the width as you change your mind from road use (185-295/60/13) to wider slicks and the
track.
Plethora of tuning folk will then get that engine out to 1400-1600cc...
Im going for 16" but havnt looked for tyres yet

I went for 16" but had a hell of a time finding matching 7" wide and 8" wide wheels... was also very limited on tyre choice for that size.... Basically if Toyo stop making them i'm screwed!
I do think the 245/35/16s look nice on the back though
I guess it may be 13" then
Neither 12 nor 14 shall the wheel be, for the wheel shall be 13.
Yes, 13" is the Holy Grail of wheel sizes.
