Hi All
I just thought I'd post a picture of the new trigger wheel in my R1. Some of you may remember I was running an external trigger wheel on my 5JJ
motor but that was pretty complicated and troublesome so I wanted to do it properly on the 5VY engine!
So, here it is-

those teeth look tiny. have you check wether you get a good enough signal off of then whilst cranking?
im planning to put a similar sized wheel on my 5vy but havent yet because i wasnt sure if teeth that small would give a good enough signal using the
stock vr sensor.
Nice... I'm not surprised Henryk is upgrading as well!

nah the wheel looks fine to me. Shouldn't be a prob getting the signal.

That was my concern! I've spoken to Chris at Trigger wheels at length over this - he's tested this size wheel with a stock sensor to over 20000 rpm. I've yet to have it running as the engine's still out of the car and the ECU is still with Emerald.
Tim - Henryk's upgraded to the latest R1 with the variable intake trumpets - I hate him :-)

with a vr sensor the amplitude of the signal increases almost exponentially with speed so the real issue is whether the ecu can read it at cranking speeds.
im wanting 1 to fit my zx12r think it needs a 2.75 36 tooth Joby but can not get 1 as i have only seen 2.5 and 3.0 and so on i need this to run my dta mite have to get the 2.5 and see how it turns out

Contact Chris at Trigger wheels - he's very helpful and may be able to sort you out!

I'm running an Emerald ECU which, like a lot of aftermarket ECU's aren't designed to pick up on some of the bike trigger wheels, hence the 36/1.
