Paddle Shift fitting
StevieB - 26/8/07 at 01:01 PM

Can anyone tell me how the Pathfinder paddle shift fits over the steering column?

Does it go over the top of the original outer column, or replace it completely?

I want to fit one, but I have the adjustable column with all the bits chopped off and don't know if it'll be possible.

Or does anytone know what the MNR paddle shift is like, as this is another option I'm considering?

Thanks in advance

it comes with a tube that bolts to the steering column under the dash. it slides over the calapsable part and then has a nice turned bit of aluminium that the paddle fixes too.

think there are some pics on his profile???

I have a different column though, and have removed all the gubbins, now it looks like this: Rescued attachment Steering Column Stripped.JPG

I think you'll need the mouting bracket from the non-adjustable column and even a non-adjustable column itself (only difference is the welded on washer that's 1" further down on the adjustable one, but can be moved).

Sorry I don't have any answers for you but...am I a sad git because I recognise the wiring loom from its colours?

Only sad if you can tell me what model it is, because it says R1 in my title block!

It's very similar to mine so you can get a better pic in your head:

The hollow shaft is standard Sierra size and fits into the bracket from the non-adjustable column.

Hope that helps,

I'd say 03/4 injected but the looms are a bit mix and match and I've stripped so many wires out of mine that I've only got one plug between main loom and the clock loom now.

You're saved from being sad!

It's a 5JJ 2000 model, and the loom seems to be a bit of a mix between the 4XV loom and the 5JJ (looks like Yamaha have modified some old stock to suit the newer model - making life a bit difficult for me into the bargain!)

Do you reckon my wiring will pass SVA or should I tidy it up a bit?
