Hi, I've got hold of an R1 exhaust to use on my blade engined Westfield. Two questions.
1 Does anyone have details of the guy who was doing the concersion bits
2 What db should I expect?

Hi,
I tried a standard R1 can on my blade, very quite, induction was more noisy and felt pretty good, however....
I have now gutted the can, its really awoken the engine as these are really very restrictive, the true pipe size is down to around 1".
Of course now its very loud so i will be adding some perforated tube and wadding.

Mine came in at 97db at SVA, 98 at Donnington.
I bought mine ready modified from guy on ebay who was doing them quite regualarly last year till about November.
Nice deep sound, maybe a bit restrictive, but pleased overall, seemed to give a good low rev power for tootling about quietly.
Have just made myself a short stubby can though to be the exact opposite for a change *ugge* its loud 
My car went through SVA with an R1 can and extra cat at 100dB(A). It was very restrictive though. A 30" x 6" straight through can is just as quiet though obviously bigger, and more expensive.
Just been playing with mine:
R1 can baffles removed and 2" exit pipe 122db
as bove but with 2.5" perforated tube added with wadding, 112db, but a much nicer noise.
Looks like I,ll be taking my standard R1 can to track days in case they get picky, sleeved the front so its an easy swap.

Same here, kept the same fittins, with just a longer bracket so it can be swapped over easy enough and no extra holes in the car.

This has got me down to about 97db @ 8,000rpm static test, but driveby (ie Donington / Goodwood etc) would still be an issue due to having a hole in
the bonnet and an open air filter meaning I get lots of induction noise when under load, so an airbox will be the next project.
