What's the pipe for that comes out of the top of the carbs?

When trying to start my engine today, fuel kept dribbling out of it!

Joined them together and fitted the pipe into the back plate of the air filter.

IMHO if you have a lot of fuel coming out of them the fuel pressure is too high! Just a bit is prolly just with trying to start it.

Engine was from a bec so was hoping all should be fine.

Is it possible things have become blocked after not running for 2 years.

A good strip an clean in order maybe?

Fuel pump is standard R1/Blade number.

Everything did look wet down the barrels and a bit came out the end of the headers as well.

Way to much fuel!

If its been sat for two years then the float valves are most certainly stuck open. (Mine were.)
remove the float bowls and lift the floats gently a few times with your finger and the valves should easily free up. Also check your pilot jets aren't gummed up. Unscrew them and hold them up to a light source (You should see a pinprick of light.) If not, soak them in carb cleaner and give them a blast with compressed air. Don't be tempted to use a thin wire or needle to unblock them.
Re-assemble and you should be fine.

Yep Id say the float valves are probably stuck, so hopefully a good clean up should sort it.

It ran OK before I sold it to you, told you it would have forgotten how to run being stood for so long!

I was happy when the starter remembered how to turn over nicely!

Have removed the carbs and opened all the resevoirs and jiggled all the floats.

All seem loose and very clean.

Removed and cleaned all the pilot jets as well.

Couldn't see anything untoward.

Hopefully the jiggle will sort things.

The egine span fine on the starter and the pump seemed to be working fine and seemed to slow up, all be it a bit late after filling the carbs.

Healthy spark on one coil as well (only checked one).

Is there anything else I should check before putting the carbs back on?
