Never done this before, but I have a local CNC firm who will make sump baffles for the R1 04-05 model.
I am trying to gauge interest in a group buy.
They currently cost £75 to buy, but depending on numbers, I may be able to buy and deliver for around £30 each if I order 10.
Most of the cost goes into the cnc programming so the baffle cost should be cheaper if I can get enough people interested.

I saw F1/2 at donington and was very impressed. I am making my own bodywork for my Indy, so seeing someones finished project was inspiring.

I have already bought a £75 baffle
I just thought I might be able to save some locosters some money!

My next project will be similar to the atom in that it will be a tubular chassis with minimum body panels and low weight.
The main difference will be R1 power.
I can't build the new project until the F1/2 is sold off, because I only have a single garage.
Any offers!!!!!!!!

My brother works with someone who can get carbon fibre panels made, so hopefully my new project will have lighter panels!
I am hoping for a car around 400kg and 0-60 of 3-4 seconds.
I will start posting photo's once I make room!

I'd agree with Mark... draw it up (even in MS Paint) and post it on here asking for someone to draw it up as a CAD model.

I'd offer to do it but I'm a bit snowed under with my own CAD modelling at the moment.

I'm sure there'll be someone that is capable and has the time to do it.

if you give me some photos with dimensions etc ill draw it up on solidworks. i need one for my 06 r1

It needs to be spot on or it will not fit!
If I had to take measurements then I would input it into solidworks myself, but I think it is better to give one man the job of doing the whole thing. I will then own a copy of the cnc program for further use.

is there any reason wy a laser cant do it?

out of 5mm ally sheet?? or stainless??

the cost would be allot lower then cnc.

cnc is for 3D parts.. as far as i know that plate is a 2D component!

i gues my pinion (look reverse thread) has more circumstance(loop distance) than the baffle plate and it was 24euro in steel and weight 0,7Kg..
