Hi Guys,

Is the air filter back plate best under the rectangular black plasic things or just under the 4 screws that hold the black plastoc things on?

Also, the thress Dzus fastners - on the top edge or bottom edge?

Dont the plastic bits hold the ram trumpets tight to the carbs ?

I would put the plate on top and then run a bead of PU around to keep it air tight.

Might as well use the 4 screws that fix the plastic thing on.

Will remove the screws, drop the plate on top of the black plastic things and then put the screws back in.

What about the big fat breather tube that used to go to the airbox - any suggestions?

On my bird, the filter base is attched with 4 jubilee clips and rubber things to the trumpets. NIce and air tight too. Just vent the breather to atmosphere, or maybe through a small catch tank just to be sure.

Pat, youve got the right idea, unscrew the 4 x 4screws and hold it on with them.

Cheers Chris.

What did you do with the breather tube?

Cheers,

use the screws and i just pushed the breather down between the carbs so the plate clears or if you have the o/e air box rubbers they fit in the holes so you can fit it as the airbox was with the original clips

Yep, I just left the breather out to fresh air under the plate

ditto here, ive done a few trackdays with it and theres no sign of oil anywhere, so it should be ok vented to atmosphere. Im sure the bikers will argue though!

Id be blooming suprised if any oil came out of a carb breather
