who says you cant polish a turd!

my budget is well and truly blown now but so far:

car- £135 ebay

donor bike- my 98 tl1000s complete with micra tyre prints from the pensioner who knocked me off it -free

conversion- all cobbled together with bits lying around - free

wheels and tyres - £60 ebay

paint -£120

GRAND TOTAL = £415

unfortunately it destroyed the axle first time out and i need to build a de-dion beam and chain driven diff to make it useable but i think this is the point at which i am going to stop keeping track of cost and just make believe ive built it for under £500

I'm curiously drawn to cars like this... and having owned a TLS, you are gonna have so much fun with the max power boys

Nice job.

Looks great!

Any chance of engine bay pics? Rear drivetrain as it used to be?

Chris.

That is kinda cool and for 415 big ones thats pretty impressive!

Looks impressive, but the dog looks like he's seen it all before.

i would show pics of the install but its like an episode of scrapheap challenge without all the fancy fabrication. the motor is back out now and i am building up a z-cars type subframe but with a de dion beam. it works quite well with the tiny wheels and the gearing is around 10mph per 1000 in top ,brakes are rubbish and it needs a set of coilovers too hence the low build cost so far

Looking good Froggy.

Like the paint Job and alloys.

Regarding the Dog - sister has one identical Got ( guesing mostly collie ) the best temprament in the World - Apart from always managing to lie in the exact spot thats the most in-conveinient .

Regards

Iain
