My Bosch external high pressure fuel pump is making a hell of a noise suggesting that it has ingested some cr&p from the fuel tank.
This I guess is a learning experience and I should have fitted a pre pump filter. So I am going to get another pump with a pre filter.
So my questis what kind of filter are people fitting?
As it is pre pump I guess it will be unpressurised so one of the clear plastic jobbies will do?
TIA

I'm just looking to do this - unfortunately mine is a 12mm inline fuel pump.
ThinkAutomotive found me a 14mm Fuel Filter - after putting the hose in boiling water, bit of fairy liquid - it should fit.
This is a stainless steel affair with cleanable filter.
It needs to be really high flow - so as not to starve the pump.
I'd give them a call

Hi Chris, Can you remember where you got yours.

We looked at getting one of those filters but everyone we spoke to advised against it due to the fuel pressure on an injected bike engine. We ended up
with one of these from an Alpha dealer IIRC
I have a high pressure filter between the pump and the injectors but I was going to use a low pressure filter between tank and pump. In tank pumps
normally have strainers and my mistake was to run the tank outlet straight into the FI pump.
As always a very neat install Mr Hellfire did you make your own bracket up or purchase?

Jim,
I've bought one of those little pro filters for my low pressure pre pump filter which feeds my swirl pot (with integral filter)which then goes
through a high pressure filter to the injection system..
Ned.
No Chris pic lifted from Burton Power Catalogue. I'll order one this afternoon.
