Has anybody on here got NOS fitted to their engine or know if they are any good and who does a good kit?
I am thinking of adding a few extra bhp to the R1 for drag racing this summer, nothing mad 50bhp or so.
Ive got a direct port wizards of nos kit with a maximiser on my blackbird engine. Ive been running an extra 75hp but i was going to run 100hp but my
diff broke at the last meeting of the year.
I wouldnt want to use any other kit than a wizards one and the controller is a must for both traction and reliability.
Cheers, any details on prices and pics?
Theres loads of pics and the prices are on the site.
http://www.noswizard.com/
Plus theres loads of info about nitrous in general on there and in the forum.
your not that far from northampton greenhill racing speak to mark cant find his number at mo i can get it if you require
knows his stuff on bike tuning runs a 400bhp hyabusa
It's actually simpler than you think - basically just feeding gas and fuel through external solenoid valve (quite primitive but it works) Loads
of cheapy bits on eBay - I got my setup for about £80!
Don't go above +50 or reliability will suffer ..... a lot
Maximiser as well. Nice bit of kit.

Yes a progressive controller makes it loads more usable but most american solenoids dont pulse very well as most are just generic solenoids not designed for this.
That NOS wizard website is really good, cheers.
Do you think i could get a full system with the maximiser for £1000??
How well do these systems work on the track? Are they always actuated by full throttle even with a progressive controller?
Sorry for all the questions but i am still learning!!
You might just get a full system for that price depending on what extras you want.
The system normally activates on or just before full throttle. This is either done by mounting a microswitch on the throttle pedal/linkage or with an
electronic switch that reads the signal from your throttle position sensor.
For the track you would normally have it coming in gently as not to spit you off the track. The main problem for being on a circit will be the amount
of gas that gets used.
I think the throttle position sensor would be a good place to get the signal from and easier to get to on mine.
How much does it cost for nitrous refills?
Nitrous refils normally cost somewhere between £3 and £5 per lb depending on where you get it from.
5 lb of nitrous will last for 1 minute at 100bhp gain. This can be scalled and should give you some idea of how much you will use.
I would recomend getting a big bottle (11lb) or you wont be able to do a full drag racing meeting on one bottle.
I'll look forward to seeing another 7 there. I'm running in Pro ET this season.
i should be there too, hopefully out of the pocket rocket sub 1600 category
tom
Never ran nitrous on any of my bikes. The bottle was tooooo big so only ever fitted it to my cars.

What were your experiences with it?
any suggestions for jets on a 4 nozzle wet system on an r1 carbed. Maybe about a 50 shot total. Thanks
wanted to bump this in hopes of response
